    Lyons voters approve $55M Capital Improvement Project proposition

    Voters in the Lyons Central School District approved the $55 million Capital Improvement Project proposition – 522 yes votes to 212 no votes – on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Improvements include state-of-the-art security upgrades, modernized classrooms, cutting-edge technology, and space for new, innovative programming. All buildings district-wide will receive renovations.

    Mrs. Heather Raes celebrates retirement after 33 years with LCSD

    After 33 years with the Lyons Central School District, Mrs. Heather Raes retired at the close of the 2022-2023 school year. Mrs. Raes was a beloved K-2 Special Education Consultant Teacher at LES for 30 years. For the 3 prior years, she held other positions within the district.

    Summer Food Service Program begins July 10th

    The Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) is set to begin at Lyons CSD on July 10th. LCSD's participation in the program means that meals will be provided to all children 18 years and under without charge. The SFSP at LCSD will run from Monday, July 10th to Friday, August 11th.

    LES Penny War raises $624 for Humane Society

    In March 2023, Lyons Elementary School held a Penny War between the grade levels to see who could raise the most money for the Humane Society. 2nd and 3rd grade classes raised the most funds and won a treat from the Student Council for their efforts. As a school, LES donated $624 to the Humane Society to use for the animals in their care. On June 14, Student Council officers Ella P., Wyatt Z., Paige C., and Lydia B. along with Ms. Boardman presented the check to the Humane Society on behalf of Lyons Elementary School.

    Free book distribution held at Lyons Elementary School

    On June 9, 2023 the LTA Community Service Committee hosted a free book distribution for students at Lyons Elementary School. Every student in grades pre-K to 6 was able to select two free books to keep.
