The characteristic features can vary in individuals that have Down Syndrome. Some features that a individual with Down Syndrome may have are

• a flattend face and nose
• a short neck
• small mouth with large protuding tongue
• small ears
• upward slanted eyes that may have small skin folds at the inner corner
• white spots also known as Brushfiled spots, may be present on the colored part of the eye
• hands are short with broad fingers, and with a single crease in the palm
• poor muscle tone                                                                                                                     
• development and growth is usually delayed
