Down Syndrome Characteristics

The characteristic features can vary in individuals that have Down Syndrome. Some features that a individual with Down Syndrome may have are
- a flattend face and nose
- a short neck
- small mouth with large protuding tongue
- small ears
- upward slanted eyes that may have small skin folds at the inner corner
- white spots also known as Brushfiled spots, may be present on the colored part of the eye
- hands are short with broad fingers, and with a single crease in the palm
- poor muscle tone
- development and growth is usually delayed
